  2. We had another great Library Club session Speed Reading all the fab selction of books on offer. Lots of the Library Club members turned up and it the end it was very close as to which 6 books made the shortlist. However, I can reveal that the 6 books Nunnery Wood High School Library Cllub liked most were...
In 1st Place, was Four Children and It,
In 2nd Place, was The Other Life, Twelve Minutes to Midnight and Itch,
and in 3rd Place was White Dolphin and Soldier Dog.

We all had a great time and I look forward to finding out what made the actual shortlist.

  3. Speed reading! It really opened my eyes, and I discovered what really attracts me to book: A bright cover and an enchanting blurb! The only book I have actually read out of the selected, is Four Children and It! A fantastic and laugh-out-loud novel by the award winning, Jaqueline Wilson- the fact that it drags you in, and keeps you interested and utterly entranced, makes it a hard target to beat! However, the brilliant idea of Speed-reading, encouraged me to read books that are far more out of my depth and to challenge myself!

  5. On Wednesday we got to have a look at the list of teen books. We then had the oppurtunity to read the blurbs and read the first page of each book and rate them out of ten. We then chose our favourite six and we gave them to our librarians who then decided our final six which we then sent off. I chose tjhe book Gods and warriors as my faviourite book and have read it since. I found it exciting and it was a really good book that I enjoyed. Ten out of Ten

    1. Pretty impressive to have read 1 since your SD session. Still don't know final top 6 as I'm not putting all votes together until all sessions finish, so all still to play for

  6. Speed dating. Not usually my sort of thing. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would and although you don't have much time to try and rate the book you can get lots of information from the blurb and the first page. My favorite book that ended up on our shortlist was four children and it. I am hoping to read the book once I have finished my present novel. I have a few friends who have read it and said they found it interesting and hard to put down. I am really looking forward to getting my hands on it once it is available (returned by the recent person who has loaned it) in my library. It really widened my knowledge on books I had never even heard of, it certainly removed the wool from over my eyes.

  7. I really enjoyed the speed dating with books because I got to try books I may not of thought to read like Earthfall.
The best book I thought there was earthfall it was intresting I also liked, ratburger and it was a real chance to try new books. I think we all have diffent points of view that why Earthfall or Ratburger were not Nunnery Wood high number 1.
